چکیده
Predation, development, and reproduction of Typhlodromus bagdasarjani Wainstein & Arutunjan feeding on Cenopalpus irani Dosse (Tenuipalpidae) were determined on apple leaves at 25 ± 1°C, 60 ± 10% RH and 16:8 h L: D. This predator successfully completed development, oviposition, and survival on C. irani. The female developmental durations of egg, larva, protonymph and deutonymph stages and total juvenile phase (egg–adult) were 2.26 ± 0.13, 1.09 ± 0.06, 2.43 ± 0.11, 2.57 ± 0.14, and 8.35 ± 0.22 days, respectively. The adult longevity in females and males was 37.09 ± 2.62 and 25.95 ± 1.96 days, respectively. Moreover, mean fecundity of females was 33.67 ± 3.79 eggs. The net reproductive rate (R0), mean generation time (T), intrinsic rates of increase (r), and finite rate of increase (λ) were 11.78 ± 2.45 female offspring, 18.00 ± 0.56 days, 0.137 ± 0.012 and 1.147 ± 0.014 day−1, respectively. Daily prey consumption rate by T. bagdasarjani was 14.62 and 5.18 prey individuals/day on female and male preys, respectively. The net predation rate (C0), transformation rate (Qp), and finite predation rate (ω) were 273.91 ± 35.39, 23.25 ± 2.99, and 5.51 ± 0.43 preys, respectively. These results indicate that T. bagdasarjani can successfully survive and reproduce on C. irani and have excellent performance as biological control agent against the pest.
