چکیده
Trissolcus agriope (Hym: Scelionidae) is an efficient biological control agent of green stink bug, Acrosternum arabicum (Hem: Pentatomidae). Eforia is the most commonly used insecticides in pistachio orchards on pentatomid pest bugs. In this study we evaluated lethal and sublethal effect of Eforia on T. agriope under laboratory conditions of 25 ± 2°C, 65 ± 5% RH and a photoperiod of L16:D8 h. A. arabicum population was collected from pistachio orchards in Rafsanjan, Iran, and reared in plastic boxes (20 × 30 ×10 cm) covered with mesh net at 25±2°C, 65±5% RH and a photoperiod of 16:8 h L:D. T. agriope was collected using of A. arabicum egg masses on yellow cards installed on pistachio trees and reared in laboratory at above mentioned conditions. Six concentrations of Eforia 247 SC ranging from 0.04 to 1.25 ml/L were prepared. Petri dishes (9 ×1 cm) lining with mesh net were subjected to the chemical concentrations using a potter tower. For each concentration, 20 newly emerged adult female wasps were released in the air-dried Petri dishes and mortality was recorded after 24 h. The LC10, LC50 and LC90 of Eforia were obtained as 0.080, 0.435 and 2.361 (mg/L), respectively. The intercept (a), slope (b) and R² of the linear regression equation were 2.960, 1.796 and 0.98, respectively. Then sublethal effect of the chemical was studied by exposing 10 newly emerged of female wasps to a drop of honey diluted with LC10 concentration of the chemical in 3 replications for 24 h. Honey diluted with distilled water used as control. Adult female longevity, total fecundity and emerged offspring of T. agriope in control were 39.2 days, 195.9 eggs / female and 114.8 offspring, however, those of Eforia sublethal concentration treatment were obtained as 29.7 days, 150.4 eggs / female and 83.3 offspring, respectively. Findings may encourage the selection of safe pesticides to conserve natural enemies in pistachio orchards.
