چکیده
The systematics of cynipids has gradually evolved over the last decade. It was revised in 2006 by increasing the number of tribes from 6 to 12 based on phylogenetic analysis derived from the molecular data, morphology, and life history. During the study conducted on Cynipini gall wasps of Iran, the oak galls samples were collected from Quercus robur (Fagaceae) planted at University of Tabriz in May 2017. Then they were reared in laboratory conditions to adult emerging in late May of the same year. The identified gall wasps specimens and its associated galls are retained in the plant galls collection of Natural Recourses Research Center, Lorestan, Iran. This species were identified according to taxonomical keys as Andricus quercusramuli and confirmed by George Melika (3rd author) based on the following characters; Female: body length 1.3-1.7 mm, the body and its appendages entirely in light yellow with uniformly scattered white hairs, wing vein distinct in brown, head with cobbled pattern, antenna with 14 segments longer than head + thorax, Male: body length 1.2-1.6 mm, similar to female in appearance as a color amber, antenna with 15 segments a little longer than body length, curveted follicular segment, in spring season on oak host, Q. Robur, the galls with sexual generation are seen on catkins as a cottony mass with sponge like soft tissue. The cottony mass is composed of small units adhering together. Generally, gall may be seen as oval or spherical with 20-28 mm diameter having 1 to 20 larval cells. Galls morphs may be found into two various color including yellowish white and pinkish cream. The oak host species of this wasp are rarely found in Iran. This is the new record of Andricus quercusramuli from Iran.
