چکیده
In order to study on eriophyoid mite fauna of Ajabshir region in East Azerbaijan province (Iran), sampling was done on plants of the families Lythraceae and Scrophollaraceae in 2016. The eriophyoid mites were recovered by means of a modified washing method. The mites were slide mounted according to Baker et al. (1996). The terminology and the setal notation in the morphological description of the mite follow mainly Lindquist (1996). All morphological measurements were taken by means of a phase contrast microscope Olympus BX53 according to Amrine and Manson (1996) as modified by de Lillo et al. (2010). As a result two new species of Aceria genus were identified from the host plants Lythrum salicania L. (Lythraceae) and Verbascum cheiranthilalium (Scrophollaraceae). The new species were compared with all species described from the plants of these families. Only three Aceria species described from the plants of Lythraceae and Aceria n. sp.1 showed very few similarities in some characters of prodorsal shield with Aceria jovanovici Petanovic, 1993 collected on Lythrum salicania L. from Serbia. But these two species had differences in prodorsal shield pattern, dorsal and ventral semiannuli number, empodial rays number and the length of most setae. The Aceria n. sp. 2 compared with 12 species described from the plants of family Scrophollaraceae until now. The new species showed similarities with Aceria granulata Carmona, 1972 collected on Verbascum sinuatum L. from Portugal in some characters of prodorsal shield such as presence of numerus dispersed granules and length of lines. Also they have distinct differences in dorsal and ventral semi annuli number, empodium rays number and length of most setae
