Some oribatids (Acari, Oribatida) of East Azerbaijan province with a new species record for the fauna of Iran

چکیده
Oribatid mites are one of the most diverse suborders of Sarcoptiformes. This suborder contains more than 10,000 described species, representing 163 families while estimates of the real world oribatid fauna range from 50,000−100,000 species. These mites are important primarily terrestrial and often dominate microarthropod in the litter, soil, and canopy, where they feed mostly on decaying plants tissue, fungi, and algae and some of them are opportunistic feeders of nematodes and small dead invertebrates. In order to study oribatid fauna of East Azerbaijan province, soil samples were taken monthly at five different regions from May to October in 2015. Mites were extracted using a Berlese funnel, cleared in Nesbitt’s fluid and mounted on microscope slides using Hoyer’s medium. Slides were kept in an oven at 45–50 °C for 3–4 weeks. 14 species were collected and identified, of which Allobelba zachvatkini** (Bulanova-Zachvatkina, 1967) (Damaeidae) was a new record for Iran. Along with this species, one family, three genera, one subgenus and 13 species were new for East Azerbaijan province mite’s fauna (marked with one asterisk): Beklemishevia* iranica* (Ctenacaridae), Haplochthonius (H.) sanctaeluciae* (Haplochthoniidae), Parhypochthonius* aphidinus* (Parhypochthoniidae*), Epilohmannia gigantea* (Epilohmanniidae), Licnodamaeus pulcherrimus* (Licnodamaeidae), Belba (B.) daghestanica*, Multioppia (Hammeroppia) wilsoni laniseta*, Lasiobelba (Lasiobelba) decui* (Oppiidae), Hemileius (Simkinia) ovalis* (Hemileiidae), Indoribates (Haplozetes) iranicus* (Haplozetidae), Trichoribates (Latilamellobates) naltschicki*, Ceratozetes conjunctus*, (Ceratozetidae), Pergalumna (Pergalumna) microtuberculata* (Galumnidae).
