چکیده
Leopard Moth (LM), Zeuzera pyrina L., is considered as an important cossid pest of various fruit trees especially walnut and apple in Iran. The LM larvae bore and tunnel from twigs and young branches into trunk. The infested trees die if no control measure is taken. Due to the pest feeding behavior, chemical pest control is usually a failure. Nowadays, the sex pheromone utilization is one of the main tools of LM management. Here, the successful pest control operation is greatly dependent to the quality of sex pheromone product. In this study, the efficiencies of some commercial sex pheromones of LM were evaluated by comparison of trap catches during LM activity. The pheromone products were include: Sex pheromone dispensers of Z. pyrina (Zp) of Russel, Green universe, Scentomos and IRIPP Companies and sex pheromone dispensers of Synanthedon tipuliformis (St) of Russel, ChemTica International, S.A. Tripheron, Agrisense and IRIPP Companies. This study was conducted in the infested Walnut orchards in a randomized block design with 6 replications in Arak County in 2010-2011. The pheromone sources were refreshed every 20 days and all dispensers were polymer type but the dispenser S. tipuliformisof ChemTica International, S.A. Company and Z. pyrina Scentomos Company were fiber type. Traps were counted 6 times during the pest activity for a time interval of 10 days. The results showed significant differences between treatments. The pheromone dispensers of StAgriscience and ZpScentamos had the most capture rates (7.9 ± 0.9 and 6.65 ±0.7 moths / trap, respectively). The StScentamos (3.45 male LMB / trap) and ZpAgriscience dispensers had significantly less moth catches (3.45 ± 0.4 and 3.65 ±0.3 moths / trap, respectively). The most effective pheromone product was StAgriscience in Markazi province.
