چکیده
Two-spotted spider mite (TSSM) is found in most of the apple orchards as a devastating pest. Up to date no botanical acaricides has been registered on TSSM in apple orchards. Due to the overuse of the pesticides and environmental pollution, finding a natural acaricide for controlling TSSM is necessary. Recently, a product named Pestout® based on cotton seed oil, clove oil, and other natural ingredients was invoiced for registration on TSSM in apple orchards. Therefore, in a field experiment treatments including 3 and 5 ml / L of Pestout, 0.5 ml / L of Envidor®, 0.5 ml / L of Pride® and control (spray with water) were investigated in Tehran and Isfahan provinces. A randomized complete block design was used with three replications and five treatments in 2018. Mortality rate of TSSM was evaluated by counting pest population (nymphs and female adults) on 20 leaves in each replication 1 day before and 3, 7 and 14 days after treatment. Data was corrected by Henderson-Tilton formula. Mean comparison was performed by Duncan’s multiple range test using SAS 9.4 software. The results of Isfahan province revealed that Pestout 5 ml / L was the highest effective treatment (with 79.49%, 82.48% and 77.49% mortality for 3rd, 7th and 14th days after treatment, respectively) without any significant difference with other treatments in all days. Moreover, Pestout 5 ml / L showed 89.68, 94.78, 89.25% mortality in Tehran province on the 3rd, 7th and 14th days, respectively. Also Pestout 3 ml / L caused 85, 94.75 and 82.1% mortalities in the mentioned days without any significant difference with Pestout 5 ml / L treatment. Based on the results, both concentrations of Pestout are acceptable and could be recommended against TSSM in apple orchards. However, complementary studies are recommended on the side effects of the product on the natural enemies prevailed on apple pests.
