چکیده
The green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer, 1776), is a polyphagous and holocyclic aphid that causes high losses in many crops in both fields and greenhouses. In this study, the age-stage, two-sex life table parameters of M. persicae were investigated on eggplant (cultivars Longo and Kemer) and bell pepper (cultivars SM and California Wonder) under laboratory conditions (25 ± 1°C, 65 ± 5% RH and 16:8 (L:D) h). At stages 4-5 real leaf of eggplant and bell pepper, five adults of M. persica aphid were placed on each host plant. After 12 hours, just one first instar aphid nymph retained and other nymphs were removed. Then nymphal duration, survivorship and daily reproduction were recorded. The lowest values of intrinsic rate of increase (r) was observed on eggplant cv. Longo (0.216 ± 0.009 day-1) and the highest on eggplant cv. Kemer (1.33 ± 0.01 day-1). The finite rate of increase (λ) was the lowest on eggplant cv. Longo (1.24 ± 0.01 day-1) and the highest on cv. Kemer (1.33 ± 0.01 day-1). The net reproductive rate (R0) of M. persicae fed on different cultivars of eggplant and bell pepper varied from 25.64 to 44.67 offspring and the lowest and the highest values were on cv. Longo and cv. Kemer, respectively. The highest and the lowest values of mean generation time (T) were estimated on cv. SM (15.23 ± 0.392 days) and cv. Kemer (13.07 ± 0.290 days), respectively. The results revealed that cv. Kemer was the most suitable host plant for growth and development of M. persicae, compared with the other cultivars
