چکیده
Olive psyllid Euphyllura straminea Loginova (Hemiptera: Aphalaridae) is one of the key pests of olive trees in Iran including Zanjan and Guilan provinces. Certain densities of olive psyllid nymphs were maintained on olive trees by defined insecticide doses application to determine the economic injury level (EIL) and to evaluate the relationship between nymphs density and yield loss. Counting of nymphs on olive terminal shoots was done from the appearance of nymphs to the end of nymphal stage. The EIL was estimated by using the equation EIL= C / (V × b × K), where C is the control cost per production unit (Rial / ha), V is the market value of olive per production unit (Rial / kg), b is the slope of the regression of nymph number on yield loss and K is the reduction of injury due to treatment. There were significant differences between olive yield loss and different densities of olive psyllid nymphs. Regression analysis was employed to determine the relationship between nymph density and yield loss. Considering the cost of pest management, market value of olive and insecticide efficiency, the economic injury levels was estimated to range from 3.9 to 9.5 nymphal per day. Olive psyllid EIL values could be used to plan a control programme of this pest in Zanjan and Guilan provinces
