چکیده
Two-spotted spider mite, Tetranychus urticae Koch (Acari: Tetranychidae), is one of the most important polyphagous pests on vegetable and fruit crops. In this study, the effect of plant probiotic bacteria (Bacillus pumilus INR7), and some herbivore-induced plant volatiles (methyl jasmonate, methyl salicylate and 3-pentanol) were investigated on life table parameters of two-spotted spider mite using attached leaves of kidney bean, under laboratory conditions (25 ± 1°C, 65 ± 5% RH and a photoperiod of 16:8 h L:D). The life history data was analyzed using age-stage, two-sex life table. The longest and the shortest mean longevity of females were 22.700 ± 0.930 days on control treatment and 20.730 ± 0.950 days on INR7. Similarly, the same parameter for males was longest (22.000 ± 1.380 days) on 3-pentanol and shortest (20.830 ± 1.780 days) on methyl salicylate, respectively. The lowest intrinsic rate of increase (r) was obtained on methyl salicylate (0.167 ± 0.009 per day), which was significantly lower (P < 0.05) compared with that on control treatment (0.193 ± 0.010 per day). The lowest and the highest values of net reproductive rate (R0) were obtained on INR7 (14.786 ± 2.146 offspring) and methyl jasmonate (18.086 ± 2.560 offspring), respectively, with no significant differences (P > 0.05).The finite rate of increase (λ) ranged from 1.181 ± 0.010 day-1 on methyl salicylate to 1.213 ± 0.012 day-1 on control treatment with a significant difference (P < 0.05). Mean generation time (T) on methyl salicylate (16.899 ± 0.331 days) was significantly different from other treatments (P < 0.05). The lowest and the highest values of fecundity (F) was recorded on INR7 (25.880 ± 2.635 eggs / female) and control treatment (31.600 ± 2.739 eggs / female), respectively. The results suggested that methyl salicylate could be considered as a resistance inducing material against Tetranychus urticae
