چکیده
To study the impact of temperature and photoperiod on Tetranychus urticae Koch, the life table parameters of the mite was investigated at 20 ˚C, 50% RH and photoperiods of 16:8 (control), 14:10, 12:12, 10:14 and 8:16 h (L:D). Developmental time of almost all immature stages was longer (17.360 ± 0.368 days) at 12:12 h L:D compared with that in control (12.419 ± 0.211 days). Moreover, at 12:12 h L:D and 20 ˚C, female adults had lower fecundity (51.840 ± 15.25 eggs/female) and oviposition period (12.619 ± 3.005 days) compared with those of control (122.333 ± 15.381 eggs/female and 15.111 ± 1.949 days, respectively). The longevity of female (14.440 ± 3.051 days) was shorter compared with that of control (18.259 ± 2.125 days) at 12:12 h L:D. Similarly, the lowest values of the intrinsic rate of increase (r =0.110 ± 0.009 d-1) and net reproductive rate (R0= 25.920 ± 8.387 offspring) were obtained at 12:12 h L:D and the highest ones were observed in control (r =0.200 ± 0.008 d-1 and R0 =66.060 ± 11.902 offspring, respectively). The other treatments had no significant difference with control. It could be concluded that T. urticae has reproductive dependence to changing photoperiod (12L:12D h) and temperature (20 ˚C). Since the mite is one of the most serious pests in greenhouses, it may cause different damages with changes in the greenhouse temperature and photoperiod conditions.
