چکیده
Considering the importance of greenhouse whitefly Trialeurodes vaporariorum Westwood (Hemiptera, Aleyrodidaes) as an important pest of greenhouse, resistance of this insect to chemical control and insecticide residue on crops and in environment , new approaches such as ecological management must be developed. Therefore, the goal of this study was to investigate phototropism of greenhouse whitefly. In this study, all wavelengths of visible light spectrum were eliminated except those are necessary for photosynthesis. Eggplants that were grown under pink growth LEDs showed desirable growth compared with normal light. In next stage, fifty mature insects (male and female) were released in phototropism evaluation chamber, in eight replications. Two tunnels to light up by pink growth LEDs, and two other tunnels to light up with sunlight. Results of this study showed existence of insects in sunlight tunnels but not in LED light tunnels which indicates efficiency of this type of LED in repelling insect and growth of plant.
