چکیده
Seed production has an important role in the survival of pasture plants. Destructive role of the family Eurytomidae, especially the genus Bruchophagus, that by feeding on plant seeds of Leguminosae family, considered as major pest of them. This study was conducted to identify seed eating species during 2015 to 2016 in the grasslands of North Khorasan province. During this study, seeds of about frothy species of legume pastures were collected. The seeds were removed and cleaned, then were placed in the special containers for rearing of insect in to the laboratory condition. Reared wasps were conserved in ethanol 75% and were identified by third author (HL) as follows:
1 - Bruchophagus astragali Fedoseeva, 1954
2 – B. caucasicus Zerova, 1992
3 – B. dahuricus Zerova, 1992
4 - B. evolans Szelényi, 1961
5 - B. gibbus (Boheman, 1836)
6 - B. kononovae Zerova, 1994*
7 - B. medicaginis Zerova, 1992
8 – B. mutabilis Nikolskaya, 1952
9 - B. trigonellae Zerova, 1970
10 - B. turkestanicus Zerova, 1994
Within 10 identified species we found B. kononovae that is new record for Iranian fauna. It was reared from Astragalus iranicus seeds that were collected from Sisab research station lands during May of 2016. Specimens are deposited in insect collection of the Department of Plant Protection, East-Azarbaijan Research & Education Center for Agriculture & Natural Resources, Tabriz, Iran.
