چکیده
Control of pests in stored products has become very difficult because of pest resistance to pesticides, cryptic behavior of store pests and obsolescence of some of last longing pesticides. Ozone is a highly reactive and strong oxidizing agent which can penetrate to masses of stored products, is highly unstable and can break to oxygen easily. In this research, we tried to evaluate application of ozone for controlling Indian moth (Plodia interpunctella, Hubner), the most damaging pest in the stored dried figs. For this purpose, 3th larvae and eggs of the moth were exposed to 4000 and 8000 gr/m3 of ozone gaseous at three time periods (5, 10 and 15 hours). The results showed that, there were significant differences between times (p<0.05) and doses (p<0.01) of exposing of eggs. The most mortality of egg was in those were exposed to dose of 8000 gr/m3 for 15 hours with 61.80±7.32 and the least mortality were observed in eggs which were in the condition of 4000 gr/m3 ozone for five hours. In the experiments of larvae, there were differences in doses of exposing (p<0.01) but no significant differences between times. All of larvae which were exposed to 8000 gr/m3 had been died. The minimum of mortalities was in related to larvae which were exposed to 4000 gr/m3 ozone for five hours with 8.40±1.14. In regard to outcomes of the study we concluded that, usage of ozone gaseous cannot be a perfect method to control of stored products like figs which need to be eradicated for several months.
