چکیده
Parasitoid-aphid-plant (Hym., Braconidae, Ahidiinae-Hemi., Aphididae) associations were studied in searching for potentially promissive biocontrol agents from Feb 2013 to May 2015 in Khuzestan, southwest Iran. For each sample, part of the infested host plant was cut off, placed in a polyethylene bag and transferred to the laboratory where it was maintained for 4 weeks at room temperature (25±5C and R.H. 45-60%) for further inspection. Altogether 11 species from 5 genera of Braconidae from Aphidiinae subfamilies were collected and identified as follow:
Aphidius matricariae Haliday; Aphidius platensis Brethes; Aphidius tranascaspicus Telenga; Aphidius sp.; Binnodoxys acalephae (Marshall); Binodoxys angelicae Haliday; Diaeretiella rapae (M’Intosh); Lysiphlebus confusus Tremblay & Eady; Lysiphlebus fabarum (Marshall); Praon cf. gallicum Stary and Praon necans Mackauer
The parasitoid guild was poor in the number of species, but the individual species manifested extensive associations with the aphids and plants Aphidus matricariae and L. confusus by parasitizing 12 aphids species from 9 genera, and 9 species from 4 genera on 16 host plant species respectively, had the most distribution parasitoid species in Khuzetan. Aphidius platensis and B.acalephae by parasitizing 10 aphid species each on 13 and 12 host plant species respectively, were in the second group. All the specimens were deposited at Insect and Mite Collection of Plant Protection Department, College of Agriculture, Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Iran. The authors wish to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Nicolas Perez Hidalgo from Spain for identification of aphid specimens.
