چکیده
The population fluctuations of codling moth, Cydia pomonella L. and plum fruit moth, Cydia funebrana (Treitsch.) were studied with pheromone traps in five and three different orchards located in Urmia county, respectively. Using pheromone trap is one of the common and efficient methods in different pests population activity studies. The number of males captured by traps were recorded per sampling date from 4th April to 22nd August, 2016. The first individuals of C. pomonella were captured on 11th April. While, C. funebrana individuals were captured before other lepidopteran pests and on 4th April. Results showed that C. pomonella and C. funebrana have three generations per year. The first moth population peak of C. pomonella was observed on 2nd May with 68 ± 24.48 individuals/trap. The second population peak of this pest was observed on 18th July with 26.8 ± 3.45 individuals/trap. In this research, the third population peak of pest was observed after 22nd August with more than 15 ± 2.72 individuals/trap. The three population peaks of C. funebrana were observed on 2nd May, 13th June and 18th July with 179.66 ± 49.67, 191 ± 63.51 and 66.33 ± 6.98 individuals/trap, respectively. Total mean number of C. pomonella and C. funebrana males captured with traps were 13.09 ± 1.81 and 53.92 ± 7.60 individuals/trap, respectively. The results of population fluctuations of the pests studied in this research with pheromone trap showed C. funebrana has higher population in this region. This study may help us to implement an appropriate technique to forecast pest phonological events in future.
