چکیده
Disinfection dry and semi dray date varieties already done with methyl bromide gas. But because of the damaging effects of methyl bromide on the ozone layer and the agreement based on obsolescence of this gas on the Montreal protocol countries. It is necessaary a safe alternative. It seems that the modified atmosphere in combination with heat treatment for disinfection of dates in the package is a suitable solution as an alternative to methyl bromide. In this experiment, after artificial infecting date packages with The Sawtoothed beetle Oryzaephilus surinamensis (L.) treated with different combinations of gases (CO2 + O2) and (N2 + O2) and then storage for 24 and 48 hours at 35,40 and 45 degre centigrad. Then the amount of live pests using a dry funnel studied and the analysis was performed to determine the best compounds for gas and temperature. Testing was conducted in a completely randomized. This expriment was conducted with 3 replications. The samples for quality tests such as the determination of moisture content, Brix, pH and total sugar and pH were tested. The results showed that the combination of the modified atmosphere and increased temperature can control stored insect pests without any damage to stored product.
