Abstract:
Different methods were recommended for controlling date palm pests but the cultural control is the most ancient method for managing of the date palm pests. This study was carried with incidentally cluster sampling method out in Khuzestan (Abadan and Behbehan regions) and Kerman (Bam) provinces. 12, 19 and 29 date palm orchards were selected randomly as sampling plots in Abadan, Behbehan and Bam respectively. Data were collected via questionnaire forms by orchards observation or interviewing with farmers and agricultural extensions services in each region. Date palm leafhopper population density was estimated using yellow sticky trap and leaf sampling. Data were analyzed by correlation and multiple regression methods. Results showed that the efficiency of cultural management factors were different on the pest population density. So that cultural pattern factors including intercropping (a), interspacing of planting (b), nutrition management(chemical and organic)(c) , leaf and off shoot pruning and chemical pest control(d) significantly decreased he pest population density.
