چکیده
During our study on Chalcidoidea of northwestern parts of Iran, we found an interesting pair of large specimens of the family Eurytomidae (Hymenoptera). This family with 1500 valid species include some parasitic and phytophagous wasps. About 50 species from seven genera has been reported from Iran. Our studied specimens were collected during summer of 2011 in East-Azarbaijan, Marand. It belongs to the genus Eurytoma, that using available identification keys to species lead us to Eurytoma trypeticola Zerova, 1978. This species has not been reported from Iran and only known from Ukraine. It was reported as parasitoid of gall maker fruit fly, Oedaspis multifasciata (Loew) (Diptera: Tephritidae) on Artemisia maritime, while we collected it on Astragalus neo-mobayenii (Legominose). This species belongs to nodularis-group of Eurytoma. Some of important morphological characters of E. trypeticola is as follow: body length 5 mm, body generally black, face over the clypeus is densely striated that reach antennal torouli, propodeum uniformly concave medially with wide median furrow, gaster S-shaped and two times longer than thorax, 7th tergite of gaster strongly elongated, two times longer than 6th (in lateral view), marginal vein shorter than very long postmarginal vein. This species is close to E. robusta Myar but abdomen and 7th gastral tergite of E. trypeticola (female) is much longer than E. robusta, also mesepisternum in the middle are transversely striated, with a well-marked long mesosternal carina, which is smoother than in E. robusta. In male specimens of E. trypeticola funicular segments have longer stems than male of E. robusta. Specimens are deposited in insect collection of the Department of Plant Protection, East-Azarbaijan Research & Education Center for Agriculture & Natural Resources, Tabriz, Iran.
