چکیده
Wheat sawfly larvae, Dolerus puncticollis (Tenthredinidae; Hymenoptera), with leaf-feeding activity on wheat, were observed and collected from wheat fields in Moghan (Ardebil province, Iran) during April, May and June, 2015. In order to determine the susceptibility of D. puncticollis to Steinernema carpocapsae, an entomopathogenic nematode species with wide host range and geographical distribution, a bioassay experiment was designed. For bioassay, Petri dishes (9 cm in diameter) lined with filter paper were infected with certain concentrations of the nematode. Distilled water was used as control and experiments replicated three times. Dead insects dissected to ensure presence of the nematode. Probit analysis showed high susceptibility of the larvae to S. carpocapsae. The values of LC20, LC50 and LC90 were 1.1, 4.5 and 37.2 infective juvenile (IJ) per larva, respectively. This is the first report on efficacy of entomopathogenic nematodes against Dolerus species.
